Tai Tzu Ying won the champion at Hong Kong Open two years in a row

Tai Tzu Ying became the queen after she lifted the title at Hong Kong Open last year. Tai made a triumph over Pusarla V Sindhu in finals this year that defended the champion with same rival. The victory was Tai’s 4th straight win against Pusarla. Furthermore, this champion is her 5th Superseries title in 2017.

Tai becomes the queen for 52 weeks now. In 2017 Hong Kong Open finals, she tried to beat Pusarla at the same place two years in a row. Tai got ahead of Sindhu in early stage of first game. However, Pusarla didn’t give up fighting with queen which made her level the point at 18-18. The pressure didn’t bother Tai so much. The queen had a body smash on her rival, and earned 3 consecutive points to seize first game.

 

Indian Pusarla V Sindhu competed with Chinese Taipei Tai Tzu Ying for a neck-and-neck battle in second game. However, Tai showed her dominance by winning the match in 21-18. This is the 12th Superseries title for Tai. Champion of Hong Kong Open is the 5th one of the year.

Hong Kong is a lucky place for Tai. She took three titles at Hong Kong Open, which occurred in 2014, 2016, 2017 respectively. There were so many people who supported Tai in finals, and the queen responded to supporters by earning champion two years in a row.

 

Chinese Taipei Men’s Singles player Wang Tzu Wei beat Indonesian Jonatan Christie in two games. He fought against with Olympics gold medalist Chen Long over an hour at second round but lost the match in 23-21, 10-21, 19-21.

Malaysian Men’s Doubles players, the Olympics silver medalists Tan Wee Kiong/Goh V Shem split recently. Tan paired up with Ong Yew Sin, and Goh paired up with Teo Ee Yi. Tan Wee Kiong/Ong Yew Sin has reached quarterfinals for the first time since they paired up. Although Goh V Shem/Teo Ee Yi lost at first round, they fought against with World No.1 pair Indonesian Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo for three games which was impressive. It is exciting to see both pairs rising again.
